Anti Ragging Cell

For prohibition, prevention and elimination of the scourge of ragging, Dhanwantari Ayurved Medical College has constituted Anti-Ragging Committee to implement the UGC guidelines stated in ‘UGC REGULATIONS ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, 2009’.

Anti-Ragging Web Portal

In accordance with the orders, UGC (University Grants Commission), Govt. of India has developed anti ragging web portal. Anti-ragging portal contains

1. Undertaking confirmed by each student and his/her parents or guardians, which is stored electronically and contains the details of each student.

2. Record of registered complaints received and the status of the action taken.

The aim of anti-ragging portal is to eliminate ragging in all its forms from universities, deemed universities and other higher educational institutions in the country. This will be achieved by preventing its occurrence and punishing those who indulge in ragging, in accordance with the Supreme Court Regulations.

Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts:
a) Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
b) Indulging in rowdy or in disciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student.
c) Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the
ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student.
d) Any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher.
e) Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students.
f) Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students
g) Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person;
h) Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student.
i) Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher.
j) Any act of physical or mental abuse (including bullying and exclusion) targeted at another student (fresher or otherwise) on the ground of color, race, religion, caste, ethnicity, gender (including transgender), sexual orientation, appearance, nationality, regional origins, linguistic identity, place of birth, place of residence or economic background.

1. We do not want you to feel that you are alone and help less. We are all with you.
2. Your Parents are there to help. Please do not feel that you will burden your parents. Talk to them freely and openly. If you are being ragged – it is not your fault. They understand that.
3. We are always ready to help you. You can call us any time. You can also send us an E mail on antiragging@damchudgir.edu.in
4. College Administration is always there to help – Please do not hesitate to ask for help.
5. Any body can register a complaint of Ragging. It does not have to be only the victim. If you notice an incidence of Ragging you must inform the anti-ragging committee. It is your duty to do so.
6. You can also register a complaint of Ragging – Anonymously. You must however avoid this option because without knowing details it becomes difficult for us to take any action. We can assure you of confidentiality.
7. You can share your ragging related problems with your Mentor also.
